I like Aerosmith like I like my oysters, raw. After Rocks Aerosmith started having major problems with drugs and their music suffered IMO. Aerosmith Dream On Song Lyrics on a Vinyl Record-Music Lyric Art-Vinyl Record Art-Rock and Roll Gift VinylRevamped. Written by lead singer Steven Tyler, this blues-influenced power ballad. Dream On was a monster, a rock epic that’s still a showstopper all these. While the band would greatly expand and refine their sound from these raw beginnings, there is an incredible power to their early recordings.
Their third album, Toys in the Attic got the ball rolling and while a very good album it's nowhere near as good as their second album, Get Your Wings or their greatest album, IMO, their first.Īnyone that hasn't heard the whole first album or second album by Aerosmith has never really heard Aerosmith. I was one of those people that bought Aerosmith's self titled first album back in '73. General CommentThere are way to many great Aerosmith songs to comment on, but this has to be one of the best and my favorite, so i chose to comment on it.In regards to Aerosmith as a band, the song was written when they were going through a tough time, albums werent selling, there music wasent getting heard, so Steven wrote it telling them to 'dream on'.
It only ever became a hit after the Toys In The Attic LP and the Rocks LP were huge hits and the single was re-released in 1976. For a start, Zeppelin never covered Dream On.
